Ok, first time posting on Blind. So I don't know all the terms, so forgive me. I saw on the Netflix Company Salaries page here: https://www.teamblind.com/company/Netflix/salaries?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=&utm_content=netflix_careers That someone in Data Science/Data Analytics is making $750,000 with only 3-5 years of experience!!! See pic of it below for your convenience. Does anyone @Netflix Data Science know who is making this much??? Can I talk to them??? I have soooo many questions. :) If not you, how about Netflix Technical HR who hires Data Science jobs? Who can answer these questions below? #1 Is this straight salary or TC? #2 What is your exact title? Data Scientist? Data Engineer? Data Analyst? What? #3 Do you have a degree? Or certs? #4 Did you work at other FAANG or Fortune 500s before you got hired at Netflix? If so, where? #5 What skills do you have? Python? SQL? Tableau? Anaplan? PowerBI? Did you have to be EXPERT level? #6 Do you really have only 3 to 5 years of experience? Right now??? #7 How many years of experience did you have BEFORE you got hired at Netflix? #8 Was this your starting salary? Did you get hired on at $750K? #9 Is this your TC? Or just base salary? What is the breakdown? #10 Was your interview difficult? How many rounds did you go, before you were offered the job? #11 Is this a remote job? #12 Do you know if everyone makes as much as you? Is this normal for Data Science jobs at Netflix? Thanks so much in advance!!! It will not only help me, but so many of my friends!!! #netflix #data #dataanalytics #datacience #datascientist #faang #netflixsalary #netflixhiring #dataanalyst #dataengineer #analytics #techcareer
Netflix is the gold standard for salary. But don’t confuse yourself, the couple of people I know who work at Netflix are ridiculously smart. Their 3 yoe is more like someone else’s 7. They were always a 10x engineer in their previous jobs.( if that term is even used) There might be outliers but the layoff culture at Netflix is strong and if they suspect you’re a bad hire you’re out before you know it. To answer your question, my friend makes 600k at Netflix
Thanks so much for this response!!!! so Netflix YOE is like dog years! 1 Netflix YOE is like 7 for everyone else Hahaha
haha your comment made me laugh
Lol wow.
Man, they’re on another level. I like their job culture.
Yes it does happen. It depends on how much value you bring.
Thank you so much for this!!! :) Means a lot!!!
Is Netflix looking to hire remotely with that kind of pay? 😍
And it’s full cash $$$
Thats the best part. No vesting BS and no performance incentive.
Netflix has a good representation in terms of merit. I don’t understand why gender and race matters in terms of competency for a job.
Yes, and as a gift they offer a unicorn that shits gold. Btw it is probably an internship, not 3-5 YOE
You seem to be ignorant and jealous, take the L.
It's very real. Netflix only does top of pay, however meets expectations is met with severance. Honestly I liken it to being a professional athlete there is no middle ground. Either your on the team or cut
I miss the old Netflix you described here. Now is completely different. Lots of A players either got fired or left for higher pay
That's a shame - got fired because of politics? The pay part is interesting because I thought they'd match you IF your manager wants to keep you...might might go back to politics.
Oh man! I just had a DS interview at Netflix and I asked for way too little…
Wow this is top of the line pay here
Yes. It's true. But being a Sr DS at Netflix requires a PhD and at least 5 - 10 Yrs of Experience.
Hmmmm… wonder why a Netflix employee would say they have only 3-5 yrs making $750K and all their data science job listings ask for no degrees… very confusing
5 YoE with a PhD in CS and Excellent referral, research work will keep you in the top 0.00001%
